Safe Restore indicates the status of each monitored Master and consequently effects the programmed settings.
Master can assume one of the following four status:
Off: Master is off and does not monitor
Safe: an alarm was triggered on Master and Safe Restore propagated safe values on connected Slaves
Offline: Safe Restore cannot communicate with Master: Master is not running or the line is down
Running: Master was reset after an alarm: running values were sent to connected Slaves (Running)
When an alarm occurs, groups are put into safety conditions consequentially. When the alarm is cleared, there is a delay in switching the various groups to running status. The purpose of this delay is to avoid overloading the system.
A second backup line can be connected between the supervisor and Master. In the event of connection error on the first line, you can check whether the connection is up on the second line. This lets you check whether a line fault or Master fault occurred.
To establish whether the Master device is offline, you can also set a condition on another device (on the physical primary line or other physical line).
If Master goes offline you can select whether Slave devices should be put in safe conditions (Safe), or if the running value is sent to them (Running) or if devices should be left in the status prior to offline (Current).
