Purpose

Register and notify unauthorized critical parameter changes. Critical parameters are typically used to optimize the system (i.e.: reduce energy consumption). These parameters are rarely changed and it may be important for the site manager to be notified (via text message - SMS - fax or e-mail) of any unauthorized changes.

Changes may be made by personnel using field device keyboards or directly via PlantVisor PRO. Each single change is recorded in a log. Notifications may per single change (for each parameter changed) or all changes (one for all parameters changed within a set control interval).

The user in charge monitors changes and for each unauthorized change may:

• restore default values (values compared to values read from the field at control),

• leave values changed (to become default values for next control).

Description

A summary map always displays the values routinely read from the field. The following registrations appear in the log:

• changes to single parameters due to unauthorized changes;

• changes to single parameters due to restored default values;

• default value readings.

Procedure

Parameter control must first be set up, enabled and activated.

To setup parameter controls:

1. Set the list of critical parameters (see Function setup) indicating the control interval, notification addressees and list of user profiles with editing permission.

2. Set default values (see Reading default values).

3. Start Parameter control (see Starting/stopping critical parameter monitoring).

Once the control has started, the following operations are possible:

1. Monitor real-time values read from the field (see Monitoring values read from the field)

2. Analyze any unauthorized changes recorded in the log (see Monitoring unauthorized changes)

3. Restore default values for single changes (see Restoring default values)

4. Stopping parameter control (see Starting/stopping critical parameter monitoring).
